Wanderers had a lot of possession early on with Harris looking dangerous on the break. From one of their counter attacks Jay Smith got forward on the right and supplied a great pass to Grant McInroy who finished well to open the scoring for Harris. Wanderers fought back and missed from several short corners before pressure told and they got an equaliser . In another quick counter attack Grant McInroy hit the inside of the post and when the ball came back to him he put the rebound just wide.

A minute into the second half Grant scored his second with a reverse stick deflection high into the net after good work from Austen Brunton. A switch move by Wanderers from a short corner produced the equaliser. With time running out and a draw looking likely Grant McInroy was brought down in the D and Sam Owen-Hughes stepped up to score the winner from a penalty flick with a minute to go. Special mention for Matthew Ogg who played in his first Midland D1 game
